WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10th-April 11th “Ethan Frome” at Theatre in the Square When a snowbound visitor arrives at the Frome farm, a mesmerizing bittersweet tale unfolds, with a searing and passionate love triangle frozen in the New England hills.  Prices: Best deal – the two preview shows on March 7 & 9 just $11. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10th (5:00pm-7:00pm) Wine Tasting at the Marietta Wine Market. Theme: “Rock Solid Reds” Open to the Public) Cost: Charity Donation:   When it comes to fine red wines at fair prices, Washington State excels. Its Cabernet Sauvignons and Syrahs are rich in pure fruit flavors and sneak in nuances of spices, nuts, flowers and whiffs of earth. Merlot remains a solid performer and Cabernet Franc shows promise. Best of all you can still explore terrific versions of each varietal for under $25 per bottle. Stop in this Wednesday and see for yourself why this area is receiving so much attention.

FRIDAY, March 12th (6:30-9pm) A Night with Chef Raul”-Wine & Dine. Cost $30ppWine & Dine with award winning Chef Raul Thomas at the Marietta Wine Market. With over 22 years of culinary experience Chef Raul will be featuring and demonstrating the preparation Latin Food & Puerto Rican Cuisine. Mix and mingle with Raul from 6:30-7pm. FRIDAY & SATURDAY, MARCh 12 & 13 “Frat Girl” (8pm) at the Strand Theatre Twisted Wing Productions presents FRAT GIRL written and directed by Jamie Wingler (The Affair) and featuring Ted Huckabee (Leatherheads) and Stacey Turner (The Blind Side). In this comedy, a young man receives a rude awakening when he realizes that his friends are intimately acquainted with his bride to be. FRAT GIRL is suitable for adult audiences. Tickets are $28 and available through The Strand’s box office.

Wine Tasting at the Marietta Wine Market. Theme: “Winging it with Wine !”) Cost: 15pp (Proceeds go to: American Cancer Society) RuChDa is our “Wing Man” this Saturday as we taste wines from around the world for the American Cancer Society. This weekend the Marietta Wine Market will select 6 of RuChDa ‘s most popular wings and pair them with a wines and cheese from around the world.

 SATURDAY, MARCH 13th Rides for A Reason” with the Marietta TrolleyThis weekend, the American Cancer Society is the reason! The Marietta Trolley will donate Ticket Proceeds To the American Cancer Society! Tickets are $12 – 20 and for every ticket sold, $5 is donated to the American Cancer Society on March 13 & 14. SUNDAY, MARCH 14th (3pm; Pre-Show Starts at 2:30pm “A Silent Birthday Song: The General ” at the Strand Theatre.  Celebrate The Strand’sfirst birthday the old-fashioned way: with a silent film and an organ pre-show. Relive a piece of Marietta’s history about a famous locomotive chase that started in Marietta. The silent 1926 flick, The General, is a comedic masterpiece starring Buster Keaton and featuring live organ accompaniment by Ron Carter. The program also features: the Little General Cloggers, Russell Bonds, author of Stealing The General, and Harper Harris, lead interpreter at the Southern Museum in Kennesaw. Organ pre-show by Phillip Allen. Tickets $5-8. Tickets purchased for January date are still good.

 WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17th (5:00pm-7:00pm) “Luck of the Irish Beer Tasting” at the Marietta Wine Market. Cost: 10pp. Our once a month beer tastings have become very popular and what better day to have one than March 17th. Join us as we pour between 7 to 10 beers served up with some corn beef, cabbage, and fixins. Wear your green and sample some delicious beers from around the World and the U.S

FRIDAY, MARCH 19th (7pm-9pm) Wine 101 Class- “Introduction to the World of Wines.” $30 pp  WOW!! You’ll be amazed at how much Anita can teach you about wine in only 2 hrs. SATURDAY, MARCH 20th “Atlanta Brewery Tour!” (11am-4pm) $60pp Spring is just around the corner and we thought this would be a great time for a beer tour of Atlanta’s best Breweries. We have chartered a luxury coach bus that will leave from our shop Saturday morning March 20th, at 11a.m. and return around 4p.m. We will start at Atlanta Brewing Company where you will receive a souvenir glass and an 8-ounce sampling of each one of their six different Red Brick Ales along with a catered lunch from Community Bar-B-Que. Then its off to Sweet Water Brewery for another souvenir glass and you guessed it! more beer. The cost is only $60pp .and we are limited to the first 50m people to sign up. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24th (5:00pm-7:00pm) “TBA” at the Marietta Wine Market. Charity Donation: Smith Gilbert Gardens Foundation Established in 1880,Stags Leap Winery in Napa Valley is home to the Stone Manor House, a mid-twentieth spa that was of the most popular retreats of its time.Grapes have been grown continuously on this property since 1883. Stags Leap Winery now encompasses over 240 acres and year after year produces some of California’s most iconic wines.This Wednesday we will have a tasting of their Chardonnay, Merlot, Petite Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.Make plans now to attend this special event.

“Marietta Wine Market Cheese Club”- $30 per month – Starting April 2010 Beginning in April, members will get a selection of 6 cheeses available the last Friday of each month. Each month will have a different theme with a sampling of 6 gourmet cheeses. Each Cheese will come labeled and cheese will be plated with picture and description of each cheese. Member will also receive a 10% discount on all cheese purchases at the Marietta Wine Market.

SATURDAY, MARCH 27th (2:00- 4:00pm) Wine Tasting at the Marietta Wine Market. Theme: “Casa Lapastolle” Open to the Public) Cost: Charity Donation: MUST Ministries Casa Lapastolle is one of Chile’s premier wineries. Founded in 1994 by the Marnier-Lapastolle Family,this winery recently the 2005 Clos Aplata, Wine Spectators wine of the year for 2008. Recently I had the pleasure of having lunch with Alexandra Lapastolle and the opportunity of tasting a line-up of their latest wines.This Saturday we will sample six of their latest releases including the 2007 Clos Apalta. This is a tasting not to be missed,make plans now to attend this special presentation.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31st (5:00pm-7:00pm) “Around the World with Layer Cake Wines” Cost. $15pp . Layer Cake wines are produced by Jason Woodbridge and his wine making team in California. Fruit for each wine is sourced from vineyards in Mendoza, Argentina ,Puglia Italy, and Barossa Valley Australia and made in selected wineries in each country. Jason’s grandfather once told him that if wine was made properly it would have ” Layers” of flavors such as mocha, chocolate, fruit and hints of spice.The best advice his grandfather ever told him was to “never pass up a good piece of Layercake” 

Sunday APRIL 18h BUS TOUR ON THE GEORGIA WINE HIGHWAY”$85pp  Join us April 19th for a day on the North GA Wine Trail. We will meet at the Marietta Wine Market at 9:30am. and begin the day with pastries, coffee & mimosas. Then off to Dahlonega, GA and our first stop the Wolf Mountain Winery. There we will enjoy their Jazz Brunch and take a tour of their winery. From there it’s off to visit and tour the Monteluce Winery & The Tasting Rooms in downtown Dahlongea.
