Dine Out – Thanksgiving Day

Let Someone Else Cook the Turkey  

If you looking for somewhere for the just the two of you to go for Thanksgiving Dinner or to take the whole family,here are some closeby suggesitions and a few worth the drive.

Ruth’s Chris will be serving a special prix fixe Thanksgiving menu from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m .The special priz fixe menu includes  the traditional holiday items. In addition, the regular menu will be offered for those who prefer red meat over poultry.  The $29.95 per adult prix fixe menu includes a choice of lobster bisque, Caesar salad or steak house salad;  roasted turkey with herbed cornbread dressing, buttered broccoli, cranberry sauce and choice of sweet potato casserole or garlic mashed potatoes. Ted’s Montana Grill has two locations in West Cobb open for Thanksgiving  in the Avenue West Cobb and Cobb Place on Barrett Parkway. Canoe is one of the most scenic restaurants in Cobb is located on the Chattahochee River in Yinings. The restaurant, which closed following the recent floods, is scheduled to reopen on Nov. 23.  The River Room Restaurant & Tavern on Northside Parkway in Vinings is serving a traditional Thanksgiving Menu for $39.95 for a three-course menu. Dinner is served from 11am-8pm.  404-233-5455, www.iverroom.com

 The Vinings Inn right in the heart of Vinings, The restaurant is in an old home once was a local inn. They are serving a 3 course traditional Thanksgiving dinner for $29,95 for adults and $12.95 for children under 12. Additionaly, they are also offering a Thanksgiving to Go menu that will feed 4-6 adults for $125.  The Magnolia Thomas Restaurant in the heart of historic Woodstock is known  for their upscale Southern cuisine. For Thanksgiving they are offering a 5–course prix-fixe menu with gourmet entree selections. 108 Arnold Mill Road, Woodstock, GA 30188, 678-445-5789, www.magnoliathomas.com

Worth the Drive

Chateau Elan Winery and Resort in Jefferson, GA is offering a Thanksgiving Day Brunch in Versailles. The hours are from Noon to 7:30 p.m., and the cost is $50 for adults. To make it even more special, stay overnight in the Inn, where they are offering a Thanksgiving Package for $225.00, which includes a Deluxe Room and the buffet for two.  The Blue Willow Inn  in Social Circle is a charming old inn that offers a wonderful traditiional Thanksgiving menu. It is about a 45 minute – an hour drive to Social Circle and that is part of the fun of going there. Eventhough, it is fairly close the drive makes you feel like you are going to a small old fashioned Southern town. The restaurant is quaint and the food is great. 294 N. Cherokee Rd. (Ga.     What about Copeland’s Restaurant in Cumberland or Kennesaw? They make some delicious cajun friend turkey for the holidays!

    Come N Get It is also open from 10 AM to 4PM. On Thanksgiving. No wait and plenty of seating. $14.95 Adults $9.99 12 and under. 10% off for parties 10 or more. Meal is going to include Turkey Breast, Honey Glazed Ham, Squash Casserole, Homemade Cornbread Dressing, Green Beans, Sweet Potato Casserole, a Basket of Rolls and your Drink. Many desserts are also available.

    That was good of John to mention Come and Get It. I called and he said the turkey is extraordinary today!
